A group of civic organizations is asking the State Board of Elections to reject a request from presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign to spurn voter registration applications from a Washington-based nonprofit group and review the eligibility of all Virginians who have registered in the past two months.
Hundreds of Virginians have complained in recent weeks about perplexing mailings from the Voter Participation Center, which mails voter registration forms to young adults, unmarried women, African-Americans and Latinos.
