Virginia New Majority is building power for progressive change in Virginia. We are Virginia’s leading civic engagement organization mobilizing and organizing thousands of voters. Our year-round approach to organizing involves mass scale voter outreach, linked to intensive leadership development. We are currently organizing a statewide campaign to expand the electorate and to build a stronger social safety net.
We are hiring 1-2 Field Directors for each of our offices in Northern Virginia, Richmond, and the Tidewater. They will direct voter engagement activities including: voter registration drives, field outreach/canvasses, phone banking, recruiting, training and supervision of canvassers, data entry coordination and leader or volunteer identification.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee intensive outreach to voters and potential voters in Richmond, Tidewater or Northern Virginia starting as soon as August 27th.
· Hire, train and supervise canvass teams and/or voter registration teams.
· Coordinate with Executive Director, allied organizations and VNM staff.
· Provide logistical support for earned media events.
Qualifications:
· One to three years of voter engagement or field experience.
· Ability to manage and lead a diverse staff.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
· Political agreement with Virginia New Majority values and program.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate in Spanish (preferred for NOVA position)
· Offices located in Northern Virginia, Richmond and Tidewater .
Individuals applying for this job should work well independently with limited direct supervision. . A driver’s license and access to a car are required.
Salary and Benefits
Salary – up to $4,000 per month, depending on experience.
